Thank you for another year with IPPractice! Looking back at 2023, I sent out about 490,000 emails to over 2200 subscribers. I included reports on about 150 IP-related court decisions and over 300 new IP proceedings. My most popular post was about the CIPO fee increases that came into force yesterday, January 1, 2024.

IPPractice.ca grew out of my hobby to gather and share interesting updates on intellectual property to friends and colleagues. It grew out of a simple monitoring of new Federal Court proceedings into today’s alerts on existing matters, new decisions, upcoming hearings, Patent Register additions and Copyright Board, PAB, TMOB and CIRA decisions. Some new features include monitoring of patent and trademark portfolios.

The first IPPractice emails were sent out in 2006 to less than a dozen subscribers!
