As posted earlier this month, amendments to the Patent, Trademark and Industrial Design regulations coming into force on January 1, 2024 will adjust most fees by 25%. The amendments were published in today’s Canada Gazette.
See earlier post from June 7 announcing the changes. The RIAS states:
CIPO is adjusting most fees by 25% over the original 2024 fee amounts to address its current structural deficit situation and return the organization to a position of financial stability. CIPO is also expanding the definition of small entity while maintaining the current patent fees for small entities.
