Mandy Aylen, a partner at BLG, has been appointed a prothonotary of the Federal Court in Ottawa. The appointment was effective June 16th.
Ms. Aylen’s bio on BLG’s website (link), says:
Mandy Aylen is the Regional Co-Chair of the International Trade and Arbitration Group, and Regional Chair of the Business Immigration Group. Mandy focuses her practice on public procurement law and government contracting, international and domestic commercial arbitration and commercial litigation matters, business immigration, and administrative law with an emphasis on Access to Information Act litigation.
Mandy has made appearances as counsel in the Supreme Court of Canada, Federal Court of Appeal, Federal Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
She joins Prothonotary Morneau (Montreal), Prothonotary Lafrenière (Vancouver), Prothonotary Tabib (Ottawa), Prothonotary Milczynski (Toronto), and Prothonotary Aalto (Toronto) and replaces Prothonotary Aronovitch who retired in 2015. The Federal Court went through a hiring process in the fall of 2015.
