Multiple appointments were made today, including to the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, courts of Nunavut, Québec, Manitoba, BC, Ontario and Alberta, the Tax Court and to CIPO.
Johanne Bélisle has been appointed as CEO of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. She replaces Sylvain Laporte who was appointed to the Canadian Space Agency in March.
In the Federal Court of Appeal, Justice Yves de Montigny and Justice Mary Gleason have been elevated from the Federal Court.
In the Federal Court, Justice Robin Camp (a judge from the provincial court of Alberta), Justice Susan Elliot (a lawyer with Good Elliott Hawkins LLP of Kingston), Justice Sylvie Roussel (a lawyer with the Security Intelligence Review Agency), and Justice Ann Marie McDonald (a lawyer with McInnes Cooper in Fredericton) have been appointed. The appointments are to replace Justice Roger Hughes who elected to become a supernumerary judge as of September 2015, Justice Marie-Josée Bédard who is appointed to the Superior Court of Quebec and the two appointments to the Federal Court of Appeal.
Appointments were also made today to the Tax Court, Nunavut Court of Justice, Québec courts, Manitoba courts, British Columbia courts, Ontario courts and Alberta courts.
