Amazon.com hearing set for June 21

The Federal Court of Appeal has fixed the hearing date regarding the patentability of Amazon.com‘s patent for June 21, 2011 at 9:30 on Toronto.

The government is appealing the decision of Justice Phelan which allowed Amazon.com‘s patent application for its ‘one-click’ invention as being patentable subject matter. The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Inc. and the Canadian Bankers Association have successfully intervened in the appeal and will be making their own arguments at the hearing.

The hearing notice is available from the court docket listing for the proceeding, A-435-10.
